Brouhaha - 2017

Disclosure: iYouthMag is Magazine Partner  for Brouhaha’17, the annual cultural fest of Sydenham College, Mumbai.

The Annual Cultural Festival of Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Brouhaha, in collaboration with The Spartan, will be held on the 12th to 16th of December 2017. Known to attract the best student talent from across Mumbai, Brouhaha'17 is all set to take things to a greater level this year. Dedicated to the celebration of creativity, the theme for this year is The Royal Era. The first thing that strikes our minds when it comes to Royal Era is the Queens, the Kings, the Dynasties and the Kingdoms, being in modern era, Brouhaha'17 would give You, an opportunity to re-live the ancient royal age wherein all the ancient kingdoms would be on the same timeline.
So what makes Brouhaha special? You would ask. What makes it stand out from among-st the hundreds that are already there? Is it the participation, coming from each corner of the town and even beyond, all participating into close to 40 events spanning several categories-Dance, Drama, Music, Literary, Quiz, Fine Arts? Or the full force of Aamchi Mumbai, brought down to a single location through a variety of stalls and performances? Or the ProNites, the pinnacle of the extravaganza, previously having witnessed the likes of Taufiq Qureshi, Shalmali Kholgade, Abhanga Repost, Kabir Cafe and DJ Candice?

If one were to judge college festivals simply by the nature of how fast they grow, Brouhaha would probably stand unparalleled in Maharashtra. Ever since its inception in 2013, it has gone to become one of the biggest and highly anticipated college festivals in the region. With competitions in the field of sports dramatics, dance, film & photography, music, debating and creative writing, and informal events with a quirky twist, Brouhaha'17 promises to be an unforgettable event. The War of DJs, Radium Cricket the Stand-Up Comedy show, the much-awaited DJ Night have definitely upped the fun quotient of the fest. Brouhaha'17 is powered by 9xM Media and co-sponsored by Pepsi Black. The title sponsor for the fest, The Spartan have also planned some exciting offers for the visitors, along with goodies and cash prizes for the winners.
Whether you’re looking to win the first prize in the Deceive Your Enemy or just participate in the Takeshi'Castle, or even if you’re just looking for some creativity like Sheesha King/Queen, Brouhaha is where you ought to be!

What Daniel Fernandes's Shadows Is All About

Shadows: A Revelatory Special

I walked into Terna Auditorium on Sunday Night expecting a special set by a comedian I had seen perform live on a previous occasion and had seen videos of on YouTube. Daniel Fernandes went above and beyond that. At the outset he cautions the audience, that his self admittedly social commentary centred style of humour that has gained an instant association with him would not be a feature tonight.

Fernandes’ takes on the mantle of a voice in our head and says everything that naturally occurs to us but social conditioning prevents us from expressing vocally.   Through an anecdotal and a canonical sense of humour, he narrates his evolving len…
